An incredible early Victorian brooch featuring a detailed bird in flight made from fine iridescent fibres of exotic bird feathers. The bird sits on a mother of pearl bade set into a 15 carat gold frame.
The brooch is not hallmarked but has been tested. There is a thin inside ring attached to the main gold frame of the brooch which tests as base metal.
There is some age related wear to the base of the mother of pearl panel along with some light patches of dust surrounding the bird. The brooch remains in good condition overall.
