Vintage Pocket Watch by Dimier Fieres & Cie 15 Jewel Nickel Case. Working and serviced and ready to start a new life after decades of use already.
Case Size: 51.5mm
In the 19th century, Dimier Frères & Cie continued to innovate, contributing to the advancement of watchmaking techniques. The company's craftsmanship and attention to detail helped it weather the various challenges faced by the industry over the years. The company registered the name SELEX in 1925. It is difficult to date this watch exactly by it is an estimate that it was made in the 1920's or 30's.
The brand's legacy has been intertwined with several other notable watchmaking houses over the years. It eventually became a part of the Richemont Group, a luxury goods conglomerate, which allowed it to continue its tradition of producing high-end timepieces while benefiting from modern resources and technology.
Known defects: As with all vintage watches, there will be signs of genuine wear and use. These really enhance the beauty of these watches as they are evidence of a history. Every blemish, every scratch is a nod to its past. On this watch, the overall condition is good but with some minor scratches dints to the case and blemishes on the metal work and back. There also some fine hairline cracks to the enamel dial which don't show on the photos as they are very fine. None of these are particularly major and are commensurate to the age of the pocket watch. The acrylic crystal is new.
Note that the photos are photos of this particular watch and form part of the description of the piece.
